My name is Nate Klaiber and I am the owner of The Klaibers Web Engineering. I could previously be found working on projects such as Reflect CMS for Clear Function. Web engineering isn't my job, it is my craft and my passion.

I am currently working as a Ruby on Rails developer with Within3. I have been given the opportunity to work with an incredibly talented team and some really incredible projects.

My goal for my company is simple: to do my best to enhance the web and ultimately enhance the end user experience.

I can be found in several other corners of the web:

• Nate Klaiber is my playground. It is where I post my thoughts and short snippets on things going on in the industry.
• Nate Klaiber Book Reviews is a newly-launched (and still rough around the edges) website that houses my personal book library collection and any reviews associated with them.

Offline I am active with many local talented individuals who work on the web. This includes small gatherings at local coffee shops, or the monthly Cleveland Web Standards events. It’s great to have a network of passionate people who work on or around the web.

• Architecture

  Before the design phase ever begins, it is important to chart your needs, goals, and dreams you have for your website. Proper planning is the first step to a successful website.

• Database Development

  This includes creating a schema that fits your business model, not the other way around. Your business is unique, and has unique needs. This is the starting foundation point of your business model.

• Programming

  While I previously spent several years programming PHP, I mainly focus on Ruby and the Ruby on Rails framework. Custom programming allows you to build to suit your needs, and gives you great flexibility in the management of your website.

• Building

  It is always important to use the right tool for the job, and understand how it impacts the bigger picture of your brand and identity on the web. I build sites according to industry standards and recommendations, with a pragmatic approach to get you the results you need.

• Analytics

  Simply existing on the web is not enough. You need to know the health of your website. Analytics lets you feel the heartbeat of your website as you grow your business.

• Search Engine Optimization

  You need to be seen and heard. Traffic won't simply come out of nowhere. You need to continually nurture and build your brand and identity. Through an array of optimization techniques, I will work to make sure your website eliminates any possible barriers and maximizes your exposure.
